CESRA, the Community of European Solar Radio Astronomers, organizes triennial workshops on investigations of the solar atmosphere using radio and other observations. Although special emphasis is given to radio diagnostics, the workshop topics are of interest to a large community of solar physicists. The format of the workshop will combine plenary sessions and working group sessions, with invited review talks, oral contributions, and posters. The CESRA2016 workshop, this year with a special emphasis on the complementarity of space-based and ground-based radio observations, will provide the community a place to discuss the exciting new science opportunities that arise from, for example, the Solar Orbiter and Solar Probe Plus missions, the new and future radio instruments like ALMA, E-OVSA, EVLA, LOFAR, MUSER, and SKA, and the plans to design and build a European spectroheliograph.
